Services to Chamber Members
Salem Update
A monthly newsletter containing the latest information on the activities of the
Chamber, announcements of future activities and events.
Information Service
Community economic data, listing of various types of community services, community
demographics, industrial directory, buyers guide/membership directory, community
resumes and other related brochures and pamphlets extolling the benefits and advantages
of the area are provided for those seeking information.
Organization Service
All members are eligible - and encouraged to participate in the many tasks that
make up the total efforts of the Chamber. Committee work offers opportunities to
share ideas and work with colleagues on common interests. It is an effective way
to get to know members and the organization.
Retail Business Promotion
The Salem Retail and Business Association, a division of the Chamber, brings retail
store owners and business people together to promote shopping in the Salem community.
Many community events and activities are planned by this group throughout the year.
Export Document Certification
The verification and authenticity of industrial products produced in Salem are certified
by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce for all materials shipped overseas and around
the world.
Notary Services
Free Notary Public services will be provided to Chamber members.
Workers' Compensation Group Rating Plan
Workers' Compensation Group Rating Plans are based on employers "pooling" their
risks through associations like the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. By doing this,
considerable savings can be realized! The Salem Chamber has teamed up with Careworks
Consultants, Inc. and Benefit Management Services of Ohio, Inc.
Salem Area Safety Council
Co-sponsored with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Division of Safety and
Hygiene, the Safety Council is a year long safety campaign to encourage workers
to develop and maintain safe working habits. Monthly meetings are held the second
from the last Friday of each month and feature experts in the safety field.
Membership Benefits Program
Chamber members offer services and discounts to other Chamber members and their
employees. Over forty Chamber members participate in this member to member business
connection program. Chamber members may obtain the discounts and special offers
with the usage of a Member Benefits card.
