The Salem Beautification Committee has started their search for the 2025 “House of the Month” winners. The well-deserved May award goes to Ryan and Sidney Connolly of 351 Washington Ave. The Connolly’s have lived in their home since 2020, and each year, have added more color and interest through annuals, perennials and cozy seating options. Sidney is truly a three season gardener. This spring, one could find daffodils, tulips, purple hyacinths, azaleas, rhodederon, lily of the valley and bleeding hearts adorning her front yard. The backyard hosts a variety of  tropical plants with lillies, hibiscus, mandevillas  and palms. Ryan came up with the idea of a rose garden in the back as well. The Connollys wanted a lot of color and entertaining spaces to host family and friends. Be sure to keep an eye out for their new plantings come summer. It will truly be a treat for the eyes.
